Process

Introduction

Every handbag begins with a philosophy of thoughtful minimalism — a design approach that values restraint, clarity, and timeless elegance. Our creative process is rooted in intention: each line, curve, and detail is carefully considered to achieve effortless sophistication without excess. From there, our vision is brought to life by skilled artisans, whose generational expertise transforms fine materials into objects of enduring beauty. Every stitch, edge, and finish reflects a commitment to precision, refinement, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Inspiration

Inspired by founder Amy Zurek's background in fine art and art history, Savette is defined by a precise, architectural style of design with an exacting geometry and appreciation for sculptural forms. Zurek also draws inspiration from the strong women in her family—her mother's timeless style, her grandmother's modernist jewelry collection—to inform the Savette aesthetic.

Design

Each Savette piece begins with a foundation of pared back geometry: parallel and perpendicular lines, natural organic curves, harmony and symmetry. The highly considered materials and construction enhance the elevated minimalism of the designs, and the modern sculptural hardware elements serve as a brand signature.

Craftsmanship

Each of our handbags is meticulously crafted just outside Florence, Italy, in a factory run by a family of third-generation artisans. Their heritage of craftsmanship and deep-rooted expertise guide every step of the process, ensuring each piece meets the highest standards of quality. From the precise stitching to the hand-painted edges, every detail reflects a legacy of care, refinement, and timeless artistry.

Materials

All Savette materials are chosen for their beauty, durability, and integrity. Our leathers are exclusively sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries, ensuring the highest standards of environmental responsibility and traceability. We work with premium calf leather, supple French goat leather, rich suede, and select low-impact textiles and fabrics that align with our commitment to thoughtful luxury. In selecting our exotic leathers, we adhere to strict ethical sourcing practices, partnering only with suppliers who uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and legal compliance. Each material is selected not only for its tactile elegance, but for its ability to age gracefully and stand the test of time.

Codes

The Savette design language is defined by subtlety and intention — refined silhouettes, sculptural lines, and distinctive proportions that speak quietly but unmistakably. Each piece is recognizable through its thoughtful construction and signature details rather than overt branding.
